Betsey Chung is the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for TD’s Canadian banking division…but her career path has been anything but lateral.
Betsey spent most of her time at the University of Toronto not really knowing what she wanted to do after graduation. Her first job out of school turned out to be in accounting, after which she left the country to work as a consultant in the United Kingdom.
Before returning to Canada Betsey got her Masters of Business Administration from the London School of Business. She returned and entered the corporate world, working in executive roles with American Express and BMO before joining TD.
Betsey says she had to find her voice in the corporate world, and believes in cultivating an open and trusting environment within her team, where all voices are heard.
On this episode of Run it Like a Girl Betsey Chung talks about the challenges of balancing work and family life when you’re an executive, and how being a life-long learner is key.
